Personality: Ib is rather soft spoken, being a silent protagonist, and doesn’t like to get people mad at her. She even asks permission to use the bathroom, even though her parents let her know it’s fine to just go on her own. Ib doesn’t like to worry anybody, so, even if she is hurt or scared, she tries to put on a brave face and say she’s fine. While things can and do scare her, she can focus on the ultimate goal, and press on, even alone if she has to.

Since she is young yet, canon has her at age 9, she still has trouble reading bigger words, and, understanding adult concepts and phrases. She doesn’t like having to ask for a word or phrase, but she will if she absolutely needs to, and that tends to be the case in most situations. Despite this, she is fairly well read for a girl her age, and thanks to her parents’ excursions, knows a bit more about art, history, and science.

Ib is rather shy, and doesn’t talk to others much. She doesn’t have many friends at school because of this. Talking to new people can make her nervous, and make her stammer. However, she will open up more once she gets to know a person better. She often seems more of a loner and somewhat sad, and that has only intensified since her ordeal in the painting world of Guertana. She now feels even more outcast than before, because she knows she can’t talk to anyone, even her parents, about what happened in that world. So she now hopes that she can reunite with Garry again, as he’s the only one who can understand what she’s been through.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Ib is quite resilient and resourceful for a girl her age. While the exhibits in the other world frighten her, she knows that she needs to find a way out, and can’t just sit down and cry, though that is all she wants to do. She is more than capable of putting two and two together, and manages to find her way through parts of the other world by herself, solving puzzles and avoiding traps.

This, however, isn’t a total change of character, even for as much as she can be brave, there is always a limit. She can only take so much of the other world before it causes her to pass out, and have a nightmare about the killer exhibits.
She will put on a brave face even during times of great fear for herself, such as when she and Mary became separated from Garry, and Mary’s erratic behavior caused Ib to run away, only to be chased by a knife wielding Mary. When Garry luckily saved her, she hugged him almost immediately with relief, gratitude, and happiness.

She doesn’t get angry at people, rather, she often lets others walk all over her, due to her shyness. She is rather timid among people, and doesn’t do well in a large group. She also has a bad habit of staring at someone rather than speaking with them.
